Energy and utility monitoring for food and beverage plants

Boilers, chillers, refrigeration and compressed air keep a food plant running, and each one uses energy all day. En-Stream shows every utility and line in one live view, so you catch waste and failing equipment before they cost a shift.

The problem

Where food and beverage plants lose money

  1. Utilities are a black box

Steam, chilled water and compressed air are made on site, but how much each line uses rarely shows up anywhere except the monthly bill.

  2. A stopped line costs more than time

When a chiller, pump or motor fails unnoticed, product in process can be at risk, not just the day's output.

  3. Fuel costs climb unseen

Plants that run boilers and generators on gas and fuel often can't tell which load is driving the spend.

What to measure

Readings that matter in a food and beverage plant

En-Stream reads these from your existing meters, drives and controllers, or from transmitters wired to a gateway.

  • Boilers

Gas and fuel use, with steam pressure and temperature from transmitters on a gateway's analog inputs.

  • Chillers and refrigeration

Compressor power and running status, plus temperatures with alarms on your limits.

  • Compressed air

Flow, pressure and compressor power, so leaks and abnormal demand show up early.

  • Production lines

Motor and VFD data from mixers, fillers, conveyors and packing machines, to track uptime and spot trends before a failure.

  • Supply by source

Grid, generator and solar, live, with what you use compared against what you generate.

FAQ

Food and beverage monitoring FAQ

Can En-Stream track boiler gas, fuel and compressed air as well as electricity?

Yes. The Utilities view tracks boiler gas, fuel and compressed air next to electricity, so every utility on site is in one place.

Can it alert us if a chiller or cold room warms up?

Yes. Set alarm conditions on any reading, such as a temperature limit, and the right people are notified the moment it drifts.

Do we need to stop production to install it?

No. Gateways connect to the meters, drives and controllers you already have. Most sites take 1–3 days on site, and larger plants are installed in phases, so production never stops.

How does predictive maintenance work on a production line?

En-Stream watches readings from motors, VFDs, pumps and other equipment. Its AI spots trends that come before a failure and alerts your team early, so maintenance can be planned around production.
